At Driveline Surfacing, we understand the need for a hard-wearing and reliable driveway given the frequency with which they are used by heavy vehicles. 

We have a simple process in place with full transparency along the way so our customers are informed at every step of the way. The first step begins with a free site survey of the area, moving onto the planning stage which includes taking all of the measurements, risk assessments and marking out areas for drainage options. 

During the planning stage, you will be able to choose the types and colours of the blocks you would like for your driveway or patio area to achieve the perfect look for your home. 

From here, the next step is to scan the area for any important pipes and cables as we don’t want to damage these! Excavating the area is the next part of the process, and this process is carried out by ourselves including laying a porous membrane to prevent the sub-base from mixing with the earth underneath. 

Next, we lay the sub-base at a minimum of 100mm (4”) deep, which will be compacted to remove the risk of any sinkage in your drive. Kerbs and edging will be laid at this point, which can either be used as a retainer, or as extra decor. The edging is laid on a solid concrete base to ensure there is no brick movement. 

Any drainage and manholes will be replaced with recess manholes so the look of your driveway is not negatively affected, and you can keep access to your drains if needed. The finishing touch will include a layer of specialist sand pressed between the bricks to prevent any unwanted movement over the years.
